I have been in the martial arts since 1973. I have a 4th degree black belt in taekwondo, and have taught karate for more than 20 years. I heard about kettlebells in 2003 when they first were introduced by Pavel in St. Paul. I found an instructor in 2004 and was certified by RKC in 2006. I started teaching kettlebells at that time at the now defunct USA Kettlebells in Minneapolis.
I have since assisted at several kettlebell certs, including ones in Copenhagen. I continue to follow Pavel very closely and have other kettlebell mentors from all over.
Kettlebells do not bore me. They deliver promised strength. The results of the training help me in everyday life and in the martial arts. I continue to practice martial arts in training Chen style taichi. Kettlebells help with the strength needed to train hard and long.
I love teaching kettlebells because I believe in the results. At Southside Kettlebells, we have a wide variety of drills and workouts, keeping the classes interesting and challenging at every level. I love watching our students change and get stronger both mentally and physically.
